This March, Yo-Yo Ma, pipa virtuoso Wu Man, conductor Long Yu, and the New York Philharmonic perform Zhao Lin’s new double concerto. A Happy Excursion receives its US premiere following performances by Yo-Yo, Wu Man, and the Hangzhou Philharmonic in China in October 2018.
The program at New York’s David Geffen Hall also includes Mussorgsky’s Prelude to Khovanshchina and Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Symphony.
