Surprise trip to Chicago for Rosemary (age 7)

My daughter, Rosemary, has played the cello since 2nd grade. She begged to play the cello for years after an episode of 'Mister Rogers Neighborhood' that featured Yo-Yo Ma. She was four at the time, but her parents weren't quite ready to enforce the discipline of practice.

Her dad, Tim, surprised her and took her on a trip to Chicago for a Yo-Yo Ma concert in April 2007. It was a 2 1/2 hour trip and she didn't out what they were doing until they got there. It was a pretty special night. In the photo, they are in front of the concert hall.

She has been playing cello for 3 years now and enjoys it. She is still a big fan of Yo-Yo Ma - and keeps improving as a cellist.
