Dear Yo-Yo,

With your prodigious memory, you may remember me from our encounters during our college days, back in the era of "L'Orchestre de la Kirkland Romande" playing the Brahms Double Concerto with Ronan Lefkowitz. I was sitting in the back of the violin section. But that's not why I am writing.

Imagine my delight and surprise when I read that you had gotten an accordion and were looking to take lessons. I may humbly submit that I am the leading accordion player (possibly the only accordion player) on the Harvard Medical School faculty, and I would be honored and delighted to give you accordion lessons. I am also the founder and musical director of the Boston Squeezebox Ensemble, which is the official accordion sextet of the Annual IgNobel Prize Ceremony, held each year at Sanders Theater. The BSE performs operatic arias rendered for accordion ensemble. If your accordion skills match even the tiniest fraction of your virtuosity on the cello, I can guarantee you a spot in my ensemble.

Please do pop me a note at thomas_michel@harvard.edu.

Happy squeezing,
Thomas Michel, 77
