I LOVE THIS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Su concierto de hoy 28 de junio en Caracas, Teatro Teresa Carreño, con la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud de Venezuela dirigida por Gustavo Dudamel fue sencillamente grandioso.

This is a great album, and I play it in my office all the time. Just recently, thinking I turned down my player, one of my customers asked on a lengthy call, who was playing in the background. I told him, why Yo-Yo Ma of course, World Class Cellist...he ran out a bought a copy of Songs of Peace & Joy. I hope he turns out to be a bigger fan than I. Keep them coming Yo-Yo. Thank you.

As a long-time singer of Christmas music, I often stay away from stores and other places during the Christmas season that play such horrible versions of the Christmas songs, but listening to Yo Yo Ma's album as I drove on a dark mountain highway under a bright full moon reaffirmed to me that good musicians can make any music speak. I don't know what the other drivers were doing as we went over hills and around corners, as the moonlight reflected on the snow, but I had joined the music party on the album and was singing along at the top of my heart. Thank you Yo Yo and all the artists on the album for creating music that is vibrant and sings from the heart.

It's too bad the other duets with James Taylor, including my favorite, "Sweet Baby James," aren't on this album or on Mr. Taylor's latest album. I saw the GMA video of the Whistle Stop Tour on youtube and was deeply moved by the song's beauty in a way that I had never been before; the cello goes together so well with the man's voice and both artists seamlessly express emotion in their work. They should release a full album together.

I saw this CD at Starbucks and I just had to buy it . I was so glad I did. I love the guest artists on the CD. This is definitely a 5 star work of music. Sarah

I found out about this album through Costco's newest mailer, of all places. I love the variety of traditional music and unexpected modern tunes. It bodes well for an album I'll listen to all year. I read that if you buy it at Costco it comes with a cello ornament.
